REWARD APPROACH SEBAGAI BENTUK EXTRINSIC MOTIVATION UNTUK MENINGKATKAN PRESTASI SISWA DI KELAS XI IPS 2 MAN JEMBER 1

Abstract


This research aims at describing how reward approach can as the extrinsic motivation step on the students’ achievement and how the learning strategy can by using reward approach, as the extrinsic motivation, improve the students’ achievement. the researcher thinks that the one influences the students’ achive-ment, especially the research subjects : grade XI social 2,  MAN Jember 1 is low motivation. Based on that consideration in im-proving the students’ achivement in learning English language is by applying the action of the extrinsic motivation.  One of the extrinsic motivations that can be used in improving the students’ motivation is by using many kinds of rewards : giving candies, smile, comfortable words, giving gift which have relation with the four skills : Listening, speaking, reading and writing. The result of this research shows that extrinsic motivation can improve the students’ achievement.
